Buttweld cross tee has four outlets to provide two branches for the main pipe. The size of branch outlet can be the same as or smaller than the run pipe outlets, therefore, cross is divided to reducing cross tee and equal cross tee.
Carbon steel cross tee is a basic and prevalent pipe fitting, it has great cost advantage but the service life is not as long as stainless steel pipe fittings, so that carbon steel buttweld fittings usually are coated to prolong the service life. Galvanizing is one of the most common used coating for carbon steel pipe fittings.
